Artificial intelligence curriculum for primary and secondary schools

AI in Primary School Computer Science

As part of our AI Curriculum for Primary and Secondary Schools, we offer Hoo & Ray, a structured AI learning concept designed for primary school computer science, particularly for third and fourth graders.

This program consists of nine detailed lesson plans, each lasting 45 to 90 minutes. Through engaging stories and hands-on activities, children follow the adventures of Hoo & Ray—two eager but often clumsy robots who want to help people but frequently mix things up. Their journey introduces young learners to key AI concepts, including data, machine learning, bias, language models, and ambient intelligence.

Importantly, Hoo & Ray lessons require no digital devices—students work exclusively with paper-based materials, making AI education accessible and interactive without the need for technology.

Hoo & Ray Learning Progress Map

The Learning Progress Map outlines the key AI concepts that students should understand at the primary school level.
— Core concepts (highly recommended) are marked fully blue.
— Additional recommended concepts are marked fully white.

Each concept is supported by a dedicated teaching guide, ensuring a clear, structured approach to AI education for young learners.
