Artificial intelligence curriculum for primary and secondary schools

AI and the development of digital comptence

Art education I

Running Wolf and Walking Venus

AI and character animation

This lesson is mainly for children in the first grade (even when adults are having fun). It is a fun game that uses artificial intelligence to animate the characters. In the activity, students create and animate a character from a topic of your choice - for example, based on a book, film or theatre performance. No knowledge or skills are required. The aim is to show pupils the possibilities of using AI in their own creations.

Ideally 3rd-5th grades, but can also be used at 2nd grade or high school

Aids

Teacher: Projection equipment, presentation
Students: Drawing, painting or modelling materials, phone or tablet, internet connection.

What pupils learn

The use of generative artificial intelligence tools can be beneficial in visual design.

Why is it taught

Based on the experience of using generative AI in visual design, it is finding new ways to collaborate with this technology.

How do we know if they've learned

They create the character's artwork and use generative artificial intelligence to move it around.

Outputs of the RVP

 Art education
VV-9-1-03 captures phenomena and processes in transformations and relationships; uses some methods applied in contemporary art and digital media - computer graphics, photography, video, animation

Computer science: digital technologies
I-5-4-01 finds and launches an application, works with data of various types

Bloom's taxonomy

Creation: students create an original animated character, combining their artistic skills with modern digital technologies.
Evaluation: they evaluate the success of the animation and adapt the result by making adjustments in the application (e.g. adjusting reference points or repeating the animation).

Digital competences

Utilization and engagement.
Creation and expression.
Efficiency and innovation.
